Merry Christmas

Daniel, fittingly, was a wise man in his preschool production of the Christmas Story. He was an excellent wiseman and sang his little heart out (he was one of the loudest). I was so proud of him. He was so excited about the program and would tell me about it everyday. My favorite thing was when he told me that he loved his costume because his dress was beautiful and he loved the crown he got to wear because it was golden and had jewels all over it.

Thanksgiving in Oklahoma

For Thanksgiving this year we traveled to see Scott's parents in small town Guthrie, Oklahoma. Traveling with two small boys is quite exhausting, well the truth is traveling with Ryan is what is exhausting. Daniel is a great traveler, Ryan on the other hand is a handful. After two long plane rides, we finally made it to Oklahoma city. I love this first picture below because it really shows the boys personality. Daniel is in the back seat exhausted, Ryan is still full of energy in the front waiting for his car seat to be installed. Once we got the seat in we strapped Ryan in and closed both doors to the cars and started loading up the luggage in the trunk. We had a shock when all of the sudden we heard the doors lock. The car was one of those self locking cars. The boys were locked in there for 30 minutes before we got it opened up. Ryan was crying the entire time and Daniel was passed out asleep in his car seat. The guy from Thrifty was a very old gentleman (he had great grandchildren to give you some perspective), and he moved really slowly helping us out. He also didn't hear us the first time when we said that our kids were in the car and he went to go and search for the extra key (which he never found). Scott finally had to track down the police to help us out. After that fiasco, we were finally on the way to Guthrie.
The backyard at Scott's parent's house. Scott's dad knows Daniel loves to play in the leaves so he had quite a few piles of leaves ready for the boys to play in. They had a great time running around, kicking and throwing the leaves.

Daniel and Ryan playing with their cousin, Brian. Brian is actually the same age as Scott and he has two adorable teenage girls. Brian played "Burrito" with the boys. He wrapped them up in the blanket like two little burritos.

Reading a book with Grandma
We took the boys to a local park to run around for a little while.

Just a cute picture our last night in Oklahoma

Kayla

It was a rough day for our family, we lost one our members today. Kayla has been in a lot of pain lately. It was a hard decision but it was time to put her to rest.

She was a really good dog and we are going to miss her. She had such a sweet personality and all she wanted was to have her belly rubbed and treats in the morning. Daniel's career ambitions include being a dog feeder (his terminology) and he was a great one to Kayla.

My Gym Halloween Party

The boys had a really great time tonight at their first Halloween Party. Daniel is batman this year and Ryan is a little monster. My mom made this costume for Andrew when he was 4, Daniel thinks that it is so cool that he is wearing Andrew's old costume. Daniel was really committed to the outfit. He wore the mask for 1/2 the party. Ryan was not so keen with his hood. He wanted it off from the beginning. I got him to wear it for about 15 minutes before he figured out how to take it off himself.

Oh the things you can say

I love you this much

Word of advice, don't ask the question if you don't want to know the answer.

Die Hard Chick-fil-a fan

We probably eat Chick-fil-a way too much. I usually go when I know we are going to be home late and I don't have anything ready to put together for a quick dinner. I guess it was a little too late for Daniel. And on the way home, I turned around and saw Daniel sleeping with a waffle fry hanging out of his mouth and his hand still in the bag (digging for another fry).

10 Years Later...

Two weeks ago we went to the mountains in North Georgia to visit my best friends from college. It was so great to see everyone! Thank you Cotter family for making this happen again. I was so lucky to make lifetime friends in college. Some days it seems like so long ago that I was a college student, spending evenings hanging out outside, talking about where we were going to be in 10 years. Other days the memories are so clear and it seems like yesterday. I miss my girls terribly, but I am thankful for our yearly get together.

Nikki has been wanting to pick apples and this year we finally did it. It was such a fun afternoon. We picked lots of yummy apples, visited the animals and went on a hayride.

"Swimming" in the hot tub. Taylor looks like a little mdoel here, how cute is she?!
I must say Daniel is looking a little "modelish" in this photo as well.

These are some of my favorite pictures of the boys. Thanks Nikki!
